The couple connected after Spencer reviewed Jarman's 2021 book River Kings; they later collaborated on digs and launched a podcast together, describing a relationship that grew from colleagues to deep love.

Past relationships and family

Spencer announced his divorce from Countess Karen Spencer in June 2024; the split was finalized in December 2025 after a legal dispute was settled. He and Karen share a 13-year-old daughter, Charlotte Diana, and he has seven children from earlier marriages.
